Fresh Tuna Steak Bake served with a Potato bake

Hi there..... Now what is better than a fresh Tuna Steak served with a side portion of Potato bake? This is my rendition of fish and chips. It is quite easy to make, more a case of chopping up some nice vegetables that will compliment the Tuna, let me show you how

Ingredients

500g of Fresh Tuna
2 x Tbs of Olive oil
1 x Red Pepper
1 x Onion
1 x cup of Mushrooms
1 x tbs Black Pepper (to taste)
1 x tsp Salt
1 x tsp Thyme
1 x tsp Rosemary
1 x tsp Sage
5 x medium Potatoes (Cut into slices)1 x Tbs Flour
1 x cup Milk
1 x cup of Cheese
50g Butter
1/2 tsp Mustard power or mustard

Method

Preheat your oven to 220deg or 380Farenheit

Rub the Olive oil over the Tuna once sliced into steaks then place into a Casserole dish. Now chop and add your Mushrooms, Red Pepper, Onion, Thyme, Sage, Rosemary, Salt and Pepper. Put into the oven for about 10minutes ( For medium) depending on the thickness of the Tuna.

Potato bake
  • cooking oil spray
  • 5 potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced
  • cheese, grated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Method

Preheat oven to 220°C. Spray a medium-sized baking dish with cooking oil. Place one third of the potato slices over the base of the baking dish Sprinkle with half the grated cheese and top with half the remaining potato. Finish with the remaining potato slices.Whisk together the milk, flour and mustard in a jug until smooth. Season with pepper and stir in the garlic. Pour over potato mixture and sprinkle with remaining grated cheese. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through.

I would suggest you make your potato bake first then pop the Tuna into the oven

Serve with a nice glass of White wine... Lifes good
